PRODUCTION
DESIGNER.
Questions in images.
Stories in spaces.
Lee Byoung Don works across film directing and production design. His practice begins with the relationship between people, objects and the spaces they inhabit.
He wrote and directed Born to Fly, a short film about individuality within an education system. His production design credits include The Day of Graduation, Hole Sweet Home, Best Record 798 and FEED.
DIRECTOR’S
STATEMENT.
I try to begin with what a character feels, what they want, and why they act. With their emotions and choices at the center, I shape the flow of feeling through images, spaces, movement, and the rhythm of editing. I seek to make films in which a character’s inner life and the visual world deepen one another.
I believe filmmaking is a shared practice, shaped by creators with different kinds of expertise. I value each department’s perspective and hope a finished film can find new meanings through each viewer’s experience. I aim to give its emotional journey a precise form while leaving room for audiences to interpret it for themselves.
